Dr Johanne Novarin began his career in internal and general medicine, with a strong focus on geriatrics and emergency care. During his training, he completed a year-long placement in hospital geriatric units (acute care, medium- and long-term care, Alzheimer's unit), where he became particularly aware of health inequalities among older patients and the importance of preventive, terrain-adapted care. This experience left a lasting impression, especially during his post-hospital private practice, where he encountered the limitations of conventional medicine in managing certain complex conditions.
Determined to offer more comprehensive solutions, he pursued training in ageing support through a morpho-aesthetic and preventive lens, aiming to promote global health. Along the way, he discovered functional and nutritional medicine, which allowed him to enrich his traditional medical approach with a more holistic perspective. He deepened his expertise through advanced training in micronutrition (SIIN, Dr Coudron), functional medicine (Prof. Castronovo), and integrative medicine.
In 2019, following a personal experience with burnout, he also became interested in anti-ageing medicine and hormone therapy, exploring these approaches himself. While initial results were promising, he also experienced the unwanted side effects associated with uncontrolled hormone use. This led him to reaffirm his commitment to a balanced, health-oriented medical practice, aligned with the principles of functional medicine — one that does not exclude the thoughtful use of conventional or hormonal treatments when truly indicated.
